About the Diabetes O.C.

The Diabetes OC was created by people with diabetes who wanted to share their life with the world in order to help others find solace and comfort, a better understanding of diabetes and an appreciation for the dedication and determination of those living with the disease.

The website that showcases the D-OC was created and launched in November of 2005 by Allison Blass, and was acquired by Gina Capone in July 2008.

  1. A Danish man with type 1 diabetes is running six marathons in six days in the Sahara Desert.

    Dear Gina

The news site www.runningwithdiabetes.com follows Søren Lilleøre, a Danish man with type 1 diabetes as he participates in one of the toughest runs in the world: the Marathon Des Sables.

Each day for six days, the participants complete a marathon in the searing heat of the Sahara desert, carrying backpacks weighing 14kg. This is a huge challenge for all the runners, but is especially tough for someone with diabetes.

Søren is taking part to prove that diabetes is no barrier to achieving your dream.
As part of the editorial team responsible for www.runningwithdiabetes.com, I thought that the site might interest you and/or the readers of your blog. Please also find attached more information about Søren, including a press release and feel free to post a link to the website on your blog.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact me on info@runningwithdiabetes.com.

    Best regards
    Anne Sofie Vinther
